I was amazed today when she responded positively on multiple tries to “give me your hands”.

Today, Clayre and I went to JC Penneys to get her picture taken in a studio…her first visit.  Our appointment was at 10:30, and we got there at 10:15, no big surprise if you know me.  There was no one else there, so I had high hopes that they would go ahead and get started…when the 10:10 appointment came in.  This would not have bothered me if they had been out by 10:30, our appointment time, but the other mommy was picky and kept having them take pictures.  They were in the studio until 10:45…not letting us in until 10:50!  I was so frustrated, because we spent a good, happy, sweet, 30 minutes in the waiting room.  People came by and complemented Clayre on how sweet and beautiful she looked and on how animated and “full of expressions” she was.  Of course as soon as I sat her down on the “curtains” she started screaming.  So her first photo session is full of tears and whaaaaas.  Lesson learned, I will show up at my appointment time, not earlier, and I will be complaining when another baby is taking all of Clayre’s “happy time” getting their picture made.  Here is a video of her this afternoon being her cute self.  Take this JC Penneys…I do have a cute daughter.  Actually, let me clarify, the Penneys people were very nice and thought she was precious even though she was screaming.

Maldonado!

On our way home from eating, we stopped by my school for a quick visit. Clayre was ready for a nap, so we didn’t stay long. Rachel was there for a conference, so she got to see Clayre, although she was fussy at the time. It was awesome to see you Rachel, you should move back.

Clayre went with us to eat with John Williams, Ken’s cube-mate at Lockheed. His wife Elise and their youngest son, Jacob, came later to meet Clayre. Later we can meet Michael, David, and Megan.

I know it is a little long, but I love the look on her face when she finally grabs something. It is right before I say “did you get it?” I also want to clarify–our little nickname for Clayre is “Boogs” or “Boogie,” so that is what I am calling her in this video.

Ok, this is going to ruin one of Uncle Zach’s surprises, but I thought these pictures were to cute. Clayre’s Uncle Zach is in India (she calls him “Chacha”) and he loves the movie Kung Fu Panda, so I downloaded this color sheet for Clayre to “color.” She could actually hold on to the crayon, just needed my help moving her hand back and forth and pressing on to the paper. She seemed to have fun. We used both her left and right hand since we don’t know which one is dominant yet (still can’t tell). And I must say, as a former kindergarten teacher, she colors better than some 5 year olds. You will get it in a few weeks Chacha, hopefully in time for Christmas.

Today Clayre has a new baby cousin…Hannah Katherine… She was a big girl at 8 lbs 15 oz and 20 inches long. Aunt Katie and Uncle David are very happy and doing well. We love you Emily and Hannah!!! Can’t wait to see you at Christmas!!!

Don’t you wish you had one!
